A history walk around Earl's Court Square

The ECSRA printed newsletters started in 1988 in black and white and in 2013 we were able to produce a full colour A5 Magazine with the sponsorship of John D Wood & Co. who did the printing. John D Wood & Co had been sponsoring advertising since the Autumn or 2007 when the publication was a newsletter. More local businesses were approached who advertised, and with the engagement with Judy Head, of Head Creative Associates, we were able to produce a full colour printed A5 Magazine. Now with the climate for e-commerce, and with takeovers more difficult to secure funding, ECSRA branched into e-magazines for the ECSRA Membership. Those not on computer are delivered a printed copy.

The day-to-day history of the Square is enshrined in these magazines, and we are grateful to Sue Lupton has contributed and edited these for the past 21 years with Judy Head doing the layouts.

This year we were introduced to the Earl’s Court ‘Call to Action’ plan for Earl’s Court, spearheaded by the late Cllr. Malcolm Spalding. There was a concerted effort for more local Police patrols and briefings and plenty of detail on the activities of the Earl’s Court Square RA (ECSRA) on behalf of the residents, so do read the link to the magazine to see the Chairmans Report. There are lots of fun stories for the events and useful local numbers for practical situations such as rubbish and police.
