Alex Tullett

March 2025

Alex-Tullett-ChairmanAlex Tullett took over the reins from Chrissie Courtney as the Earl’s Court Square Residents’ Association (ECSRA) Chairman in December 2024.

Alex moved into Earl’s Court Square in February 1993 and was co-opted onto the ESCRA Executive Committee in 1995 and became Hon. Treasurer from the beginning of 2010.  Alex has always been in accounting, primarily in shipping but latterly in property management, after being involved in a number of blocks from the mid to late 1990’s.

Alex started to become interested in planning from around 2009 and started the list of openings and closings in our Earl’s Court Square surrounds in April 2016. This is now a very comprehensive piece of work.  Alex tells us ‘As I have lived in the Square since 1993, I knew what was where and from when to when, noting when commercial unites changed, and if a change of use is involved.’ He goes on to say, ‘I was also able to ask residents who have lived here since the late 1970’s for any gaps in my knowledge’.

Alex receives weekly from the Council Planning Application Listings, Planning Decision Lists, Licencing Applications and what is known as Key Decisions, which are generally outside Planning and Licencing yet are out for Public Consultation. If anything relates to the Earl’s Court Square Residents’ Association Footprint, Applications and Key Decisions are forwarded onto our Executive Committee for discussion/ agreement/objections/comments and actions that are agreed to.

He represents ECSRA on the Executive Committee of the Earl’s Court Society (ECS) which covers Abingdon, Courtfield, Earl’s Court and Redcliffe Wards, there are various sub-committees, these can be seen as working groups at https://earlscourtsociety.org.uk/working-groups/

Alex is on the ECS subcommittee of the Planning and Conservation Group (P&CG) representing Earl’s Court Square Residents’ Association, the P&CG being active in relation to Planning and Licencing matters, who meet monthly and via email if something requires immediate attention.
