The Annual General Meeting (AGM) on February 24th marked the 52nd meeting of the ECSRA since its founding. It was held in the elegant dining room of the Courtfield Pub on Earls Court Road.
The meeting was chaired by Andrew Foster, who began with a summary of the year's activities. This was followed by Honorary Treasurer Alex Tullett, who presented the financial report. The report showed fluctuations in the bank balance compared to the previous year, with all changes accounted for.
This year’s speakers included Councillor Sarah Addenbrooke, who spoke about her role as the head of Communities and Community Safety for the area. Rebecca Paczek, Director of Public Affairs and Community Relations, and Sharon Giffen, Head of Design from the Earls Court Development Company, also provided updates on the Earl’s Court Development site. We appreciated their insights.
The gathering was warm and welcoming, featuring both new faces and familiar members reconnecting.
Andrew Foster introduced two new committee members and announced that Larry Smith is stepping down due to relocation. Sue Lupton is also stepping down after nearly 30 years of service, and at the end of the meeting, she received applause and a gift from the ECSRA Executive Committee. We are sad to see her go.
The next ECSRA Executive Committee meeting will include a vote for a new Chairman.
